Lovely Saturday to everyone! Saturdays are about tutorials and other nice things from Solsken Design and this is the first article in that context.
People sometimes ask me where I find inspiration to the Solsken Design jewellery and the answer is simple yet complex; everywhere. I read an article called The Beauty of Knitting, Sewing and Crochet on the Smashing Magazine website only yesterday and found it – including the comments – so amusing that I realised inspiration had to be the first topic of this series.
If you don’t have time to read all of it, the nutshell version is that some readers were really annoyed, offended, etc. because an article on needlearts was published on a website that is “supposed to” focus on coding, graphic design, web design and so on. The horror of having to look at some little crafty stuff! Other readers pitched in and confessed to be one of those knitters, one of those, who find inspiration in unexpected places.
That’s what creativity is for me, as well. A pattern in the street, a flower, a blog article on cooking, a piece of music or contemporary art, anything can be inspirational, as long as you keep your eyes open.
Do you have some favourite places to stock up on ideas?
